Tony Brown: Educational Performances Coordinator
Tony completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech and Theatre at Berry College, where he won a national championship in oral interpretation of prose literature. The next two years were spent on Masters studies in Speech Communications at Auburn University, where as a graduate teaching assistant he coached the individual speaking events team to their first-ever national team championship at the D S R -T K A national invitational tournament. He has studied with Ann Jagor, Lloyd Williamson of the Actors’ Movement Studio of New York, and Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, Mass. As a Senior Acting Company member and Education Artist he has been involved with a variety of educational programs, including in-school residencies, The Shakespeare Intensive for Teens, and Shakespeare Superheroes, as well as matinee performances, post-show talk-backs and teaching playshops both at ASC and in schools. He also works with the Apprentices, both assisting in their scene work as a part of their formal studies and as a work-a-day mentor. Tony is the ASC Education Performances Coordinator.
